Obersturmfuhrer SG

Of course they have to phase the Leopard out, they got a monster to run in the Abrams.

IAF SG

Old school guys like him are the modern incarnation of roman centurions. They are truly the backbone of the any army

tankee1981 SG

Although this is very unlikely but it is still worth a thought. Is there any chance that the Leopard 1 tank parts is compatible with that of the Leopard 2 tank? Very Happy

LRRP SG

if it is...i wont be surprise that SG buys them in for parts..

I remembered during my NS time. SAF bought a lot of 2nd hand rover from NZ for a very small token price..

SingaporeTyrannosaur SG

Not a big chance... the two tanks are words apart, like asking if the M60 Patton can share parts with the M1 Abrams...

laurence82 SG

i wonder if mr singa bising got anything to say about this?

Laughing

Fingolfin_Noldor SG

For crying out loud, the Leopard 1 and 2 are very very different vehicles. Why would we want Leopard 1 parts for our Leopard 2s?

tankfanatic SG

post the pic lah

Fingolfin_Noldor SG

From the article. The tank below is the Leopard 1.

SingaporeTyrannosaur SG

LOL, LRRP seems to be mistaking the Leopard 1 for being the same as the Leopard 2, when they are actually a generation apart...

Leopard 1:

Leopard 2:

The two designs were introduced about 14 years apart, I'm not sure how many parts they share, if any.

But don't feel too bad, people can get tanks mixed up at times but I doubt they can go to the extent of lionnoisy can't tell the difference between an AMX-13 and an M113.

Arapahoe SG

that's funny.

allentyb SG

why do you need tanks, when you have GUNDAM

BEHOLD, THE ALL MIGHTY GUNDAM

Fingolfin_Noldor SG

Death to Mecha!

*Rolls out heavy tank with multiple rail guns*

sgf SG

Well if Straits Times reporters can constantly refer to M-16s or MP5s as machine guns, I guess its forgivable for a noob here to mistake a M113 for a tank. Laughing

kenn3th SG

Laughing it cant hurt a gundam Mr. Green
need beam cannons instead,

I_love_my_toilet SG

l like the word u used, noob o.O Mr. Green

SingaporeTyrannosaur SG

LOL, to call lionnoisy a noob will be an insult to all noobs. At least noobs learn from their mistakes and improve, but lionnoisy just keeps on drawing from the depth of his ignorance and shows no real sign of improvement in his knowledge of military affairs whatsoever.

I kinda like the way he said losing your personal weapon is an acceptable, and unavoidable part of NS... lol, has he even served before?
