With these subjects can enter JC?

Diesel_Dimension SG

Combined science (phy/chem)
MTL
Eng
combined humans (SS & geog)
E maths
POA

then no A maths or any pure science subjects can make it to any JC??
as in some JCs requirement requires u to take at least some H2 subjects
For eg IJC with cut 20COP requires
students have to choose three H2 content subjects and one H1 content subject. One of these four subjects has to be a contrasting subject.

haiz if not juz head poly..

FireIce SG

quite difficult…..

u shld end with 'jc flamers, start your engine!'

Laughing

Diesel_Dimension SG

i start engine liao leh.. but the problem is the on subjects im going to study for.. .. intending to join classes start of nxt mth ..so muz make sure which are the subjects first.. see need to adopt which subjects.. Rolling Eyes

Darkness_hacker99 SG

If your result make it, then can lor. You this year taking O level ar?

Without A math, you got to study harder than other ppl.

At least 3 H2 and 1 H1. One of these should be contrasting subject.

H1 is half the syllabus of H2. Contrasting subject very difficult to explain leh.

For example you take sci and maths subjects, then one must be art or something else like econ.

Somemore JC got H3, more indepth of H2.

MI no H3.

Diesel_Dimension SG

then i think need to adopt a-maths lo..
hopefully get a C6 for it..

anhydrouscoppersulphate SG

i do have classmates who studied combined science. you can cope with H2 sciences with hard work. e maths.. maybe a little tough with physics and maths

Diesel_Dimension SG

in this case even my L1R5 subjects meet the COP requirement but the crap subjects couldnt fufil the requirement to take up to 3 H2 subjects..
or COP below their COP requirement can enter liao??

Diesel_Dimension SG

like this means with crap subjects also can enter lah?? as long as my COP can meet the requirement??
Sianz entered the wrong sch with only a Pure chem to study..

laurence82 SG

i am not sure about the system, but if you didnt take A Maths for Os, I think you will have to do AO Maths instead of Maths C

plus you didnt take pure science, so it will be harder when u take any of the three A level Science subject

i suggest taking more humanities related subjects, and there is nothing wrong in considering poly, especially if you do well in Os, take the course which you like to do

Artiwizoras SG

Haha, Why not? You can still take H2 sciences. For subjects like h2 econs, there is no prerequisite. Relax ^^. Although life is tough without A maths but I heard of a senior who managed to get an A for A level physics even though he/she never took A maths.

But in JC, the main idea is, to go university. Thats the mindset you should have, no kidding.

Good luck.

Darkness_hacker99 SG

COP is just an estimation only.

Subject combination is different thing leh..

Those usually go JC got 3 pure Science and 2 Math.

R3SsH|n SG

dun go jc.

laurence82 SG

I dont rem using much of A Maths in A level Physics

hmm

Artiwizoras SG

1 word.

LOL

And i think i can totally understand. xD

Darkness_hacker99 SG

Ya. Those ppl who go JC is those Got very big realistic goal to go Uni de leh.

If your JC didnt do well hor, waste time. Why not take Poly?

JC
Con: Cannot adapt = fail= waste time
Pro: Ultimate route to Uni.

Poly
Con: 3 Years studies, harder to go Uni.
Pro: Dip holders get more than A level holder.

nubcake SG

Hmm u have almost the same combi as me xcept that i take a maths. (sch force everyone take)

U only have the basics of maths n sciences. U will suffer if u go JC..

Artiwizoras SG

Its the differentiation and integration that might be quite troublesome for people like them. But don't worry. Work hard and you will soar. ^^

Diesel_Dimension SG

my schl put the top 2 class A maths n 1 single Pure chem with comb science only..
others muz take POA & comb science..

WTH..my parents had no education experience and juz dumped me into any schl near my hse.. ok la admit i also nvr studied really hard.. Wink Wink Rolling Eyes
