Inside kena milk...outside kena milk...we're known as a population that gives and gives when forced.

March 2002 :

S'pore ship for Indonesia
A DECOMMISSIONED Republic of Singapore Navy ship was transferred to the Indonesian Navy in Jakarta yesterday, in a move that symbolises the close and longstanding relationship between the two navies.

The Singapore Defence Ministry and the Indonesian Ministry of Defence yesterday said that the RSS Jupiter was designed to provide support for diving operations and underwater search-and-salvage missions.

It was decommissioned in September 2001, having served the Singapore Navy for 10 years.

march 2009 :

Former RSS Jupiter, now part of Indonesian navy TNI-AL, attacks Singapore............

If anything like this happen.......make sure someone SUE the Indonesia ball carriers in the Republik Singapura Navy...... ...and the...........pui.......

FBI SG

our government knows wat they are doing don worry//

mayb it's jus like a trojan house.. but thsi time round inside put spy devices

Ito_^ SG

its juz crap.

UandMe SG

RSS Jupiter is a small, old & useless boat, not the one shown in the pic. If u saw the actual ship, u will know how smart we are to give a junk as a gift to others

zenden9 SG

I think the newa bt Sg given away some F-16A to Thailand AF is more significant than this one!

KKK84 SG

RSS Jupiter was a mine-counter/sweeping vessel. The ones shown in the pic are our MCMVs, still operating in the navy.

tek_koh SG

ya lor..the one in the pic is too 'hi-tech' to be given away, well we can say that Jupiter is given away to lessen our maintainece burden and to increase theirs Wink

Shotgun SG

Ha, Find out how much it cost to scrap a vessel first. =D

bilateral relationship

I hope RSN fit some tracking or spy device in that ship before handing it over. Mr. Green

Arapahoe SG

i would have prefer to give Phil some Navy asset rather than to the Indo. The Fili have a serious threat from extremist group and the country is unable to provide equipment to much of the Phil island.

This is the reason why people in the region Said about Singapore we give for our selffish reason. The truth is while the indo may thank us at ground level, but at the top Indo level probably have negative effect.

Advante_101 SG

Why cant they just give it to me..I can go fishing in the caribbean sea enjoying the sun all by myself..

Darkbaron SG

Sounds good man fishing in the carribean. can go for the dorados, amberjacks, etc count me in hehe.

soulwinner SG

Totally agreed..

ditzy SG

How much sand can we buy with that? Laughing

Arapahoe SG

A finger! Mr. Green

Personally i think its a good idea to keep the Indonesian navy happy as you know the TNI is a force to be reckon with in Indonesia's government until quite recently.

Now the military still have some influence in the government. After all, the current president which have proven to be a capable leader is an ex-general. Very Happy

Anyway its not some offensive boat, its just an old naval support craft so not much to be worried about.

red_amoeba SG

I guess its all part of diplomacy....we are so small and stuck in the middle of two "hostile" countries who will only look on gleefully at our demise. This is call appeasement - give them something, keep them happy and hopefully we can get some things smoothly when it needs be - eg: SAF training, overfly of air space, etc.

Short Ninja SG

Just a floating scrap metal

BaruKu_9 SG

Hahahaha.......Don't worry lah!

Give whatever new and good thing to them also don't have to worry lah, just ask this question, do they know how to operate and maintain those things effectively? Let me tell you, one thing I'm very sure that they can maintain extremely well so that it is always in brand new condition is their brain! Haha, most probably they just take those good things as mobile hotels in the sea and everyday sleep confortably inside! Rolling Eyes

Everybody in the world already known that these people can't be trusted at all, our MINDEF definitely knows this long long ago.

SO, don't worry lah, we not stupid, hahahaha..........
