LRRP SG The chinook fights on..already 35 years old and going for another generation.. http://combat-missions.com/in-the-news/army-tests-latest-chinook-lakota-helicopters
tankee1981 SG I was wondering why we didn't get any replacement for the Hueys which we have retired...unless we no longer need any light utility helicopters...hich doesn't make sense... I am thinking that this Lakota or the EC-120 already been used as trainers will take over Huey's role just fine.
spiderweb6969 SG Super Puma/Cougar was the UH1H/1B/Bell 212 replacement, while the colibri was meant for training not combat.
insouciant SG Eh.. I don’t think the super puma/cougar was meant as a replacement to the UH1. Not unless the SAF is planning to acquire more.
SpecOps87 SG Why not get something like the Aerospatiale Dauphin 2? can carry 8-10 guys in back and be armed as well. Or the Agustawestland SuperLynx?
kopiosatu SG its a replacement. i'm not thinking, i'm telling you. don't expect to see any utility helicopters anytime soon.
kopiosatu SG why not think about the logistics? don't forget, it is "ah gong's" money. they want things cheap and good.
kopiosatu SG wah lao, honestly the new GANTT chart is 'unreadable' its painful to the eyes because of the thick black lines and all I see is a BBQ wire mesh.
nutpinko SG reali ar? hahaha. no choice. nt enough resources. and you mean u all r using it now?! woa.. hahaha. u fr super puma wan ar?
kopiosatu SG "not enough resources", you're learning the lingo already. did u learn that while u were there? the DST is using it, they use it everytime there's a major servicing.
cydus21 SG donno about replacin the UH1H but we did aquire new S-70B which the navy version of blackhawk.. which obviously gonna serve our navy on the new frigates. i dun see UH1H as much of a use. can seat i think at most 1 section?? abit no use right?
