hmm…by looking at the vaccum gauge,if the neeble goes up too high,then u will release the throttle a bit,like this u will save fuel lor,

Its not Defi. Its STI Original Meters. Comes with the car. Some STI may not have bcause owner do not 1 it.

meters that are used for either oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, vacuum, voltage, boost etc......

popular brand is Defi, but there are other types like SLM (smoke lens meter), autogauges..... etc.

why its there ? Some need it- in turbo cars esp, some don't need it but want it, some just like it for its cool factor

Can look around for DEFI at ST power, or enquire in workshops like BMS.
SLM can find at Mc Well.

e ironic thing abt these gauges r dat they actualli draw power from e car battery. so if ur car isnt in gd shape n still add these wu ah bo eh voltmeter la, dun be surprised when u see it suddenly go zero.. batt flat! Laughing

Long time no post....

Is there such a thing as an auto transmission oil temp gauge? I'd really like to keep watch on my tranny lube temp....

If so, there must be some sort of temp sensor (eg. thermocouple) attached to the gearbox....is this possible at all?

Actually for me I just wanted to save a few bucks, so fixed a themostat with a digital temp meter.

Hi gentlerock,

Sorry my thermostat is for the air con. Linked it to the main control system, but adjusted the thermostat to hover at around 20 degree. This is to prevent the compressor to cut in and out too much, hence reduce power consumption.

Don't know if it will work on all cars though... I did it cause I thought it might help..
