somehow, many of us are brought up sharing the beliefs that being materialistic is kinda incorrect, not to mention a girl in sought of a rich husband.

if today, your good friend breaks the news saying that she is seeing/marrying this guy, particularly because of his wealth, how would you feel?

and if you are in her position, would you have done the same?

Very Happy Well, if a man can *publicly* admit that he is interested in marrying *only* Rich and Sexy girls then he will have to deal with the stigma consequences (eg. whether he care a damn how people will view him where ever he goes/does).

Same will apply to any gal.

For me I don't think it's morale-ly wrong. Coz Rich or Sexy or Handsome are all distinguishable attributes/characteristics like cute, nice, outspoken, frank, tall, short, fat, skinny, caucasian, black, fair, kimMo, redhead, tuaLiap, tuaKee, hoLang, paiLang , sporty, intellectual, caring, boChap etc. Wink All these are how people choose/characterize their potential bf/gf. That depends. Who knows whether the rich person can be
as caring, loving and faithful as any other not so affluent
guy ? Am I going to hold it against him just becoz he is rich?
Certainly not!

Personally I've witnessed some not so affluent guys being even more *jerks* than rich guys? How do you explain that, then?

Is it wrong to be rich or not rich ? That is another slew of
social stigma that perhaps nobody can explicitly answer. Wink

There is nothing wrong with wanting to marry because of wealth or because of looks. However, such a relationship might not last long. What if the guy becomes poor or the girl loses her looks ???

having said that, it might be more socially acceptable for a guy to go after a beautiful girl, than a girl to go after a rich guy, although not by much.

To each his own I would say. After all, I doubt they would be happier than I am.

Time for my cavemen theory.

In the past, cavewomen look for cavemen who can smash a rock into a lion and bring home the meat for them to eat. And also those who know how to start a fire. Whether they are hairy, hairless, smelly wasnt of much relevance then. What is the use of looks if you are going to starve.

Cavemen care for cavewomen who appreciates this particular skill of his.

I suppose that is also nature's way of removing the weak humans from the system and ensuring that the fittest survive.

Fast forward to today, granted relationships these days are more complex compared to something that was so simplistic in the past. But the underlying principle still exists, which is women will always look to those who would be able to support her, be it in emotional or financial. Thats why we have rich gals marrying poor guys, or poor guys marring rich gals.

Guys deep now inside, as long as a gal knows how to appreciate him for the skills or talents that he has, the guy will go for her.
