It was shown in Vietnam to be a stupid waste of money not to
mention wanton and useless destruction to use B-52 in guerilla
wars.
at that time the north vietnam air defence were the biggest and
the most heavily defended airspace in the world(other that Russia)
, it have the thickest consentration of air defence weapon
consisted of multilayered missile and AA gun in terms of per square
meters. By saying the B52 were downed by guerilla is like a sick
joke.
Yet, they persist till this day, e.g. Afghanistan.
