Help Needed to Choose Subwoofers!

Hi All! Very Happy

I'm getting my new car soon... (Nissan Sunny)

My wife is sick of the big subwoofer in the boot... plus now we've got two child seat... *sigh* some things' got to go... Crying or Very sad

Looking at those enclosed small subwoofers that are place under the front passenger seats...

Some choices I have in mind are:

1. Pioneer TS-WX22A
2. Alpine SWD-1600
3. Kenwood KSC-SW1
4. Clarion SRV 303

Anyone has any experience with any of these?

Would appreciate any inputs- like which is better, and where to buy them!

Woah! These are rare stuff shops dun normally carry as they move slowly. I recommend 8 inches rear speakers instead for your bass department. Get a solid board up to hold them.

Don't you think there is quite a great need for such systems? Since there might be a lot of music lovers that need more boot space? Rolling Eyes

But car boots are there for a reason. I know that some people advocate taking out the spare tire to lighten the car and hence improve FC, but you will never know when you need the tire. Better safe than sorry. The spare tire may save your life rather than risk a puncture/torn tire.

If you want a good sound system, won't it be better to invest in a home theatre system with surround 7.1? I mean, you are spending the bulk of your time at home (especially with 2 kids), so I guess the car boot can be saved up for better purposes.

Yes, I happen to be a music lover - so I have a home system that's quite ok... Wink

I believe also that good music in the car can make the driving experience totally different - especially if you are stuck in the car, e.g. Jams....

And yes, I need the boot space - that's why I'm looking at one of the 4 solutions - where I hope to find the best of both worlds.... Rolling Eyes

How hard is it to get MTX or Rockfords in singapore? I used to have 2 12" subs before my car got broken into Sad Sad Sad Go for a seald box, it will be a bit quiter but have a much much cleaner hit. the 8" alpines are pretty good, I ran one off my 500 watt rockfort 500.2 punch and it sounded pretty nice. Rockfords are pretty good amps. What are you going to use to power the sub?

Running smaller bass cones at rear speaker board is easier than getting one of those stuff you mentioned, and with better result. Having this easy alternative, there is no need for such systems. In fact, such systems were designed for pick-ups, vehicle without rear board or boot. Market demand is not what you percieved. Check with the ICE shops and you will know if there is demand for such systems or not.
