Scrap car or hold on to car?

Paiseh, i read everything already.

Based on calculations:

Rebates - $17,000 + $8000 (road tax) = $25k

$25k/$20 = 1250 of weekday voucher (don't know called what *forgot while typing)

Hence 1250/10/12 means every month I can take 10 days of weekday voucher.

Overall seems more worthwhile for me to get weekend car since we don't travel so far much. Plus the fact that if there is a need, I can always convert back to normal and the calculation is "straight-line" method and I don't lose out much.

Am I right to say that?

Whether if you would enjoy the full S$800 per year rebate depends on the size of your car's CC. If you got a small car like mine, you will only enjoy S$400 rebate because my car's road tax is ~S$450, and the OPC road tax is at least S$50.

Secondly, if you count in the 17k rebate for the weekday voucher, you might as well get a normal plated car. So what my friend did is compared the saving from the road tax and concluded that he have 32 coupon to use per year. These would be a more convincing comparsion.

Other than the admin fee to convert your car to normal plate from OPC, the rest is petty much what you indicated. Wink

Yes, if I am getting a 1.6 the road tax is $950 a yr...hence wil be $800 savings.
Admin fee for converting is $100, plus i guess some other misc fees.

I was just estimating if I need to drive on weekdays how many coupons I need to buy. Most most probably i won't need it often.

The car comparison that I am using is toyota vois.
