if u notice, the cam profiles are much more aggressive than
conventional vtec cams, geared for maximizing volumetric efficiency
at high rpms in NA applications. even in FI vehicles like the evo,
u seldom see duration go beyond 272 degrees. with the tec killer, u
have cam durations of over 300 degrees.
vtec activation does not depend on CR.
it depends on throttle position, fuel pressure, oil pressure and
water temps amongst other things. while it is true that higher CR
does work better for NA applications, the two (vtec and CR) have
their unique set of dependant variables working for them.[/b]
so example a Crower stage 3 cam which is for racing
purpose...
it have more aggressive cam profile, does it mean that it will
affect the
function of Vtec???
