Well, the piece of paper is a sign of commitment. That you'll
love her thru thick and thin. and won't leave her. Without the
paper, there is less incentive to stay. (although divorces are easy
to get nowadays).
Also, when you have kids, if you're not married, it's gonna be a
lot of work.
Anyway, once you've decided to love that person and marry her, the
paper doesn't matter. You don't intend to get divorced right
?
