Ask u guys, if a buyer intends to purchase something from me and the mode of payment is via transfer of money to bank account, is it safe to give that buyer my account no.? I mean is there any risk involved?

One more qns is that online bank to bank transfer (eg. UOB to DBS) is it possible?

what can he/she do with your account no? even if a stranger holding your bank book, there is nothing much he can do as well.. correct me if i m wrong...

yes, is possible to use internet banking for transfer between different banks, but it will take around 3 working days. but if is between the same bank, is immediate.

but do note that fund transfers to diff banks may incur a charge to u if you are the one initiating the funds transfer...not sure for which banks though haha Razz Anw, be safe and never ever give out anything more than ur bank account number

Last time some one from US wiring transfer US$30 into my DBS bank acc, DBS charged me S$20 funds receiving fee, that mean I only received US$17.

If u receive US$100, DBS also charge u S$20, that mean if small amount better use other method.

no no. that is for wire from overseas to local. there will be additional charges.

you are transfering from UOB (singapore) to DBS (singapore) right?

overseas maybe..

but local de, i always transfer from my posbank acc to my standard chartered acc or vice versa.. never charge me leh.

but then, inter-bank funds transfer will take about 3 working days.

as in the person fr overseas has a HSBC acc and going to transfer money to DBS acc
