Gordonator SG i will rather not know how long i can live cos for example if i can only live for 20 years like in Andre's case, i'll live my life knowing every passing day i'm closing to my death. even more frightening at the 15, 16 years mark knowing i got a more years to go.
fymk SG If she is lucky - she will live the full 20 years. If she is not - rejection of the transplant can occur at anytime and will result in death.
AugoeideS SG Allografting transplantation is a very big major problem because of graft rejection. Transplantation should always be the last resort to any situation regarding organ failure...especially when the donor is not someone genetically identical to you... It's a major headache lah, yes, it is true that she will not live long. I'm surprised that for her case its 20years, since it is a very long time. Normally transplanted organ only survives up to 8years.
red_amoeba SG its liver not kidney rite? 20 yrs, by then science /medicine could have advanced to a stage where things might be very different. Already, there was a letter to the forum proposing trading of organs. Hence, she may get another transplant to prolong her life - bcos the situation might be very different. I remembered her transplant was allowed due to the special circumstances then, whos going to say the macro-environment won't change by then?
Gordonator SG an extract from yesterday's Today paper. for full story u may wish to google and visit the today's website.
bladez87 SG the docs said my grandma will not live pass the night, 1 year ago. in 2 weeks time,i will be giving her hong bao.
Chuichi Koshiramaru SG If I had to point a finger, I would point at Chen Liping and Rayson "what's his name?" for selling that drug. But it's not fair to do that as Miss de Cruz herself took it upon herself by consuming it without considering the risks first. Anyway, I wish all the best for Miss de Cruz and her last 20 years on earth.
mancha SG We all will die of accident, sickness, suicide, execution, war, act of God, or old age, which ever is earlier. So far there hasn't been any one yet who has not died or is not going to die.
