Well, let’s take it this way, If North Korea attacks South Korea, they will have their Artillery firing at Seoul, that will kill many civillians. It is also know that the North has much of it’s troops along the 38th Parallel, so they would sure be a sudden rush of invasion along the whole border, that itseld would be a problem. And if China and Russia were to help with Logistic and weapons stuff, the North could be advancing very rapidly and taking control of the South very fast.

But seriously, although its part of the scenario, I find it very hard to believe that China will sit back and shake leg if NK invades South Korea.

How's it possible that all the Rufugees from NK come to Singapore? The distant is very far, and there are many countries that they need to clear first before coming to Singapore. Well. I predict that many rufugees will exit NK, most will want to go China or Russia.

What I said was an analogy. I meant that just as Singapore won't standby and watch refugees rush down from our neighbours, China most definately won't stand by and watch North Korean refugees go across their border en mass. Its an analogy, I didn't literally mean that the NKs are gonna come down to Singapore.

North Korea is the immediate neighbour of China and I don't think China really want to go to war with its former "comrade" again. China is big enough to receive 100,000 refugees or more, and North Korean refugees will probably start going into China if the UN coalition forces started bombing civilian targets or when North Korean troops are defeated.
Politically, China will not want to invade North Korean unless its own interest is at stake.
We should be happy if China do not supply anymore war materials to North Korea.

Yes, especially those from the leadership because they will bring with them lots of wealth amassed during their time in power. Very Happy

Fighting as part of a UN coalition force is much less politically sensitive in Korea than in the Middle East. The enemy is clearly the dictator and his army, it is not ambiguous as in the middle east, different ethnic groups and different religious sect, all with different interests. North korea do not have many sympathizers, there will not be any diplomatic fall out. You are not likely to have terrorists carrying out retaliating raids in your home ground.
It is also not fighting for the american interest, for there is no oil reserves. Mr. Green

If everybody agrees that we should not send in any fighting forces, we are all agreeing that SAF is for the defence of Singapore only. Then lets support the SAF wholeheartedly for and only for the defence of our country.

Aiya...what we shall do then, Idea is to send our MM to the UN. He will recommed that the Allied soldiers to come to Singapore for their R&R. They can do their shopping in Orchard Road and of course,visit our casinos. Laughing This will be just like the Vietnam War days. Mr. Green

Well, the invasion of South Korea may not affect Singaproe directly. But hink of it this way, When the North attacks the South, US troops will rush over to help out. At this same time, China sees that the defence of Taiwan on the US side is lax, they will launch an attack on Taiwan, thus affecting Singapore directly cause we have our troops there. This time, wad do you guys think Singapore will do?

I don't believe that China will launch an attack on Taiwan just like that. Their foreign policy is very clear. They will only attack if any one of 5 conditions are met. Seizing the moment while the US is busy is not one of them.
