jolmeister SG Hi, I'm new here in Singapore and I'd like to learn the Mandarin language. Can anyone please refer me to any classes I can take at an affordable price. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jolly
wh|[email protected]| SG How about the local community center? Kinda affordable. But they only have conversation mandarin http://160.96.187.35/NASApp/cconline/courseMain.do
jolmeister SG I'm here coz my company assigned me here for a project. So I thought I'd learn Mandarin on my spare time. Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll check them out! Thanks again, Jolly
Eric Cartman SG Ignore aku1b0d0. He is a joke account. Most of us know how to speak mandarin (if of chinese race). Many people also know hokkien, but many only know the popular swear words.
Eric Cartman SG You thought wrong. You're a malay aren't you? Maybe you dont know how to differentiate mandarin and hokkien.
aku1b0d0 SG I'm seriously not a racist. I don't know much Chinese language, but I know how to differentiate both. mandarin always has the "sh' or 'ch' sound ryte?
Eric Cartman SG That's only if the speaker bothers. Most of us are too lazy to even move our tongues a little when we speak to make the "sh" and "ch". That's how we differentiate a chinaman from a singaporean.
aku1b0d0 SG lol. Anyway, do you Singaporeans speak Hokkien, Mandarin or Cantonese? Cause I wanna learn a langauge that can be used both in Msia and SG.
aku1b0d0 SG ... Can the Malays speak Mandarin or Hokkien too? I would feel awkward if they can but I don't...
