chillycraps SG do u mean fictional or non-fictional? anyhow, Between Two Oceans is a nice read, talks about military history of Singapore. Janes Recognition is all time favourite, The One that Got Away is nice too, a different perspective of Bravo Two Zero.
tankee1981 SG I love the early works of Tom Clancy such as Hunt for Red October, Red Storm Rising etc
fallin SG I haven't read Hunt for Red October but I feel that Red Storm Rising was a really too technical for the average reader, or maybe its just my military knowledge thats lacking. Anyway personally,my favs are Turtledove's Timeline 191 series. Not sure if that can count as military books but they do depict an alternate WWI/II.
chillycraps SG by the way anyone read Team Yankee by Harold Coyle? He writes nice tank warfare fiction.
GIB SG "Long Reach" by Mike Lunnon-Wood, about the invasion of Belize by Guatemala and how a small British force managed to hold off the invaders until reinforcements could arrive. "Not Quite Men, No Longer Boys" by Kenny Laughton, a true life story about an Australian Aborigine's experience in the Australian Army serving in Vietnam.
