History has shown the trend of empires and powers rising and
falling as time passes. In your opinion, how long will Pax
Americana continue? Its always been my opinion that American
hegemony will end via economic problems rather than any military
confrontation. With forces simultaneous in Iraq and Afghanistan and
with rising nuclear states like Iran and North Korea, I can only
imagine the strain it’ll put on the US economy. I grant you, the
American capitalist system might be able to cope with it better but
surely sooner or later public debt will catch up.
