Install the Yahoo! Widgets Engine, which will enable the widgets
on your desktop.. then if you don't like the widget, you can delete
it off your hard disk. If you don't like the whole thing, you can
uninstall the Engine. 
But it's really handy... I have a countdown timer that looks like a
tea bag so I can use it when I eat cup noodles in front of the PC.
I also have a clock that shows time in other countries.
