No need chim MLRS this is good enough. TOS-1. 200mm Thermobaric, short range rockets. No need to let the foor soldiers chiong up the hill and clear the fortifications. This weapon has seen action in Chechen battles by the Russians, quite effective.

Iglas are reputed to be good. They are credited with downings of many Western aircraft in the recent Gulf wars. They may not be as good as Stingers. but they cost hell of a lot less. They may be crude – but they work – just like AK47s or 74s. Just fire two Iglas instead of one Stinger – you still get a downed enemy plane or heli at a lower cost – also makes the bean counters happy.

Hmmm.. the manpads igla is still very impt. The M113 cant get up on to building rooftops as yet. In built up areas, u need to get ur AA high so that u have maximum line of sight/fire.

Imagine orchard road... the M113 Igla is not going to be very helpful there. But getting someone on top of the Mandarin is.

They`re cheap. But when countries can buy Western ones($$$), they opt for the latter. Why is that? Most Russian tanks are lightly armed; which is why they are up-armoured with ERAs. They subscribe to a different doctrine. But whether the latter is just as good as thier counter-parts from the West remain to be seen. Newer anti-tank projectiles are being designed to penetrate the ERA shield. Pity the poorer armour underneath then or the soldiers.

Here`s what I`d do. $$$$. The Russians need that. Get our guys to get thier hands on any technology currently in service by our potential enemies and co-develope or just buy the technology. We`ll be able to disrupt thier operations. Also, pre-empt the potential purchase of any weaponry by buying them ourselves. S-300 is a start and perhaps S-400. So, you`d imagine, a certain country being without a proper defensive medium or long-range missile sheild. They can`t buy American Patriots, Standards, etc(cuz the Americans won`t sell erm). They can`t buy Asters cuz we already have them. Now they can`t buy Russian too cuz we`ll have them. That`d be fun.

Not only sheridan, I also saw a M2 AFV, T-XX, and.........that was way back in 1994.

I remember seeing some T-XX together with the Sheridan. All painted desert brown.

We do have Russian weapons in our inventory; as well as European ones.The fighter competition was different though. It was a 'competition.'

I agree, there are no Bradleys there. The T-XX along with its AFV counterpart (both from same source) are no longer there as it have been discarded due to their conditions. This is such a pity as T-XX and the AFV will have been a great addition. Very Happy
