you should thank morphology of words...
to make it worse.... some words in the past that are always used
wrongly is now accepted into proper english.
e.g. Celtics (pronounced Keltics), but nowadays Cel-ticks is also
an acceptable pronounciation.
Perverted, not a proper english word correct term should be
perversed. but dictionary nowadays accept perverted as proper
word.
Kleptomania,... alternative spelling Cleptomania is acceptable
now.
