mhcampboy SG Which temple in Singapore honors Kali? And what forms of worships are done to her? Heard she can do "things" for you if worshiped correctly.
Eric Cartman SG we have muslim, christian, buddhist and taoist forums just no hindu someone make a hindu forum please
gUms SG im hindu , anyway de temple nearest to tekka market has , lord kali statue there , not sure bout the rest …
<Precious> SG Wasn't Kali the name of the god that a cult was worshipping in Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade....?
fymk SG Sri Mariamman Temple has her statue at the darkest part of the Temple. I saw before - very eerie and her holding entrails and a decapitated head and a few other things . Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple and Sri Ruthra Kaliamman Temple are dedicated to her. Note the kali in the midst of the name. For her to do anything for you , you have to do something to yourself first. In the ancient days - human sacrifices were made to her. Some of her devotees were said to disembowel themselves in dedication. Correct me if I am wrong.
NirVaniC SG There's following temple's exist in Kali's honor.. Vairavimada Kaliamman Temple - Toa Payoh Lorong 8 Vadabathira Kaliamman Temple - Serangoon Road Veeramma Kaliamman Temple - Serangoon Road Ruthra Kaliamman Temple - Depot Road (Opposite CMPB Building) Mariamman Temple does have a shrine for Kali.. But its depicts the calm aspect of her.. (No temple in Singapore has Kali in her fierce form due to religious reasons)
An Eternal Now SG Wow.. this must be the first topic on Hinduism in sgForums for a very long time... Btw just wondering any hindus around? Can someone ans my question in the new hindu forum
sunniban SG According to the stories.... all the gods (or at least all that i know of) can do "things" for you if worshipped correctly. They can also punish you if you disrespect them. But Worshipping a deity just for boons or favours just isn't right.
