You are right. You pay SHCV (StarHub Cable Vision) for the
channels you received. But have this in mind, who authorised SHCV
to broadcast all the channels? It is MDA (Media Development
Authority) The account receivable of MDA is done by IRAS.
So, don't complain to much. If you feel that those using PC/HP/MP3
to listen to radio need to pay for radio licence too, do feedback
to MDA. Then maybe one day, they will charge everyone for using
that.
Last thing, if you don't want to pay for TV licence, then don't
pay. Just hope that you don't get caught for having a TV without
licence.
