Is this the new ruling of Taxis?

Haze| SG

I take taxis almost everyday when I am in Singapore.
I have no problems so far until this morning when the taxi driver insists that he cannot stop me at Hitachi Tower alighting / drop off point. He must drive to the nearest taxi stand which is located at Battery Road.

It is very very far to walk from Battery Road back to Hitachi Tower. Is this the new ruling these days that all taxis must drop off passengers at Taxi Stands in CBD area?

god.. i am gonna quit taking taxi if that's the case.

sometimes we reli do not understand their difficulties. so do not generalise or discriminate. they are earning a living too. this is how the economics goes actually..

ditzy SG

Yeah, we sure don't know what they face. Laughing

It is not far from Battery Road taxi stand to Hitachi Tower. It’s just round the corner.

BufPuf SG

i dun think is the distance

but since the threadstarter is taking a cab, it would make sense for her to stop right infront of the building and not stop somewhere near and have to walk

STUU SG

fark the taxi driver la…. insist he stop where u want or else u wont pay the fare

thanks for understanding my point!
if the taxi can't bring me right to my destination, then what for I take a cab. I might as well take train or bus rite!
commuters take taxi because it's convenient as they can drop off at the destination directly.

u r from which country?

I think this is rubbish. If you wanna be sure, you can call the taxi company and ask.

I remember there was once this taxi driver drove me all around and gave me a c0ck and bull story after that. I immediately called the taxi company and asked. Not true? I immediately lodged a complaint against him.

If one day you buy 'chay kway diao' to eat.. The hawker tells you that no more 'kway diao' but only 'dao gay'... And he has his difficulties and need to make a living too... He offers to just fry for you and you just pay for it and eat lah.... Would you Question

have u done calculation to comapre to confirm this statement or not ?

Darkness_hacker99 SG

According to the law, if a taxi driver refuse to bring you to the destination, you can sue him.

snop_coolz SG

i dont think is he dont wan lar..mayb becos the road is busy as in alot of car..you just hate it when some taxi stop by the road side suddenly to let passenger to alight/ board.. or mayb its jagged white lines means no waiting..

ditzy SG

And to sue people you usually require capital. To be able to afford such capital, owning a car is small fry, even in singapore. Laughing
