"A WELL-DRESSED man driving a new Mercedes-Benz C180 was
arrested last night, after being chased by a police
cruiser.Eyewitnesses told The Sunday Times that the cars stopped at
the traffic lights on Geylang Road just outside Lion City Hotel at
about 11pm.
Three police officers came out holding their batons and ordered the
driver out of the car, said Mr Mike Tay, 40, who was in his car at
the time. The man refused and when the light turned green, he
turned right onto Tanjong Katong Road against the flow of traffic.
Mr Tay said the man had to dodge a few cars coming at him and
managed to get to Eunos Avenue 5 before crashing into a drain.The
police car was on his tail throughout and after the driver crashed
into the drain, the officers arrested him.
They would not comment when The Sunday Times approached them at the
scene. But the driver of the Mercedes, who was wearing a
dark-coloured suit, was seen retching in the back seat of the
police car. He could not sit upright."

If this is drink-driving, as I think it is, the driver should have
his license revoked permanently. He could have killed
someone..
