Not written by me; I translate this from a Chinese joke book so
that every one can enjoy.
Once, there were three friends who were absolutely scared of their
wives. However, they'd never admit this to each other because they
didn't want to lose face.
During a party, the conversation slowly drifted towards talking
about their wives. Each man tried to brag about what a "powerful"
husband he was.
Man#1 said, "I have an equal relationship with my wife, of course.
We believe in equal division of command. I take charge of the house
and the car. She takes charge of the dog and me."
Man#2 (laughs), "Equality of command? Ridiculous. Me and my wife
believe in democracy - we have equal say. If our opinions are the
same, she MUST follow my decision. If our opinions differ then I
will follow her decision."
Man#3 (laughs even louder), "HAHAHAHAHAHA! What equality of
command? What democracy? It is so weak to want 'equality' with your
wives. For me I always make it clear to my woman - I will make all
the big decisions, and she can only make all the minor decisions.
However for the past 20 years, I have yet to face any big events
requiring big decisions."
