buses_galore SG

I heard that jc is very stressful…the transition period…

coldzero SG

I believe 85% – 90% of the JCers struggle in JC.

hey, I couldn’t make it to first 3 months, does it mean i will miss alot if i decided to go to JC (given my O level results is acceptable). And is it really 3 months now? Cause O level results release is quite early now.

hegu SG

you might miss out on the fun socialising and making new friends in the first 3 months. academic wise you have to catch up on a lot a lot (and i really mean a lot), work super hard to be on par with the others.

from what i know during my time, proper lessons for 2nd intakers usually start after the march holidays, even when the results are released earlier.

probably some make-up lessons during the march holidays.

if u work hard, u'd nv be beaten...
anyway, 1st 3 mths, e syllabus shld b quite simple, e basics...

jus have to really settle down quickly, get used to JC system..
good luck dude

SexyChin SG

First three months is basically chicken feet.

The difficult part comes in jc2. Wink

hegu SG

i think the most difficult part of the jc life is the period before promos:

stressed by promos, which determine whether you can promote to jc2
busy with project work
taking over CCA duties and posts from j2 seniors

hetfield90 SG

thanks guy. I have another friend who intially didn’t want to go JC, thus did not sign up for PAE. However, he had a change of mind. Can he still go for first 3 mths?

hegu SG

i think it's a bit too late now...

Yaimster SG

Some schools still allow you to appeal. But chances are ....

hetfield90 SG

Bring your documents (Prelim results, Testimonials, etc.) directly to the JC that you want to be posted.

I think it's too late now, but you can try =).

Just go crash lor. Especially the beginning, when everything's still lecture only. Teacher also dunno.

Invite him to your class, if your form teacher is ok, he/she might allow your friend into the class. If not, then only go for lecture lor. Missing the tutorials won't matter very much ba.

hetfield90 SG

You mean my friend can just go for lecture even though he didn't sign up for first 3 mths jc? Won't they take attendance and chase him out or something?
