which brand is the best? and how big is the best for value?

currently looking for Samsung LCD TV R Series - 32-inch because not so expensive - below $2,000.

LG and samsung makes good panel, maybe you can go down to those showrooms and take a look yourself, cause this kind of thing is subjective. Also remember to enquire about the dead/stuck pixel policy so you don’t get a headache

is there a quick way to check dead pixel?

the showroom guy told me there is blue screen (but how about white, red, green background?)

can we use computer to plug into LCD TV to check? like using image viewer to view full RGB, White image using borderless or full screen view?

Can, but try to go down during weekdays where there is lesser people, otherwise during the busy weekends, they may not entertain you

but if liddat dun buy liao...no test, later the person sell us a 99% all pixels dead tv, only 1% of the pixels light up....

Oh you just missed out the harvey norman $999 42 inch lcd tv sale. One drawback is that there is at least 1 dead pixel. Laughing

Go for the Sony Bravia series. Good stuff.

As for size, it would depend on ur sitting position relative to ur TV position. 3-4m away 32"-37" should be fine. If u sit 4-6m from ur TV then a 42" would be ideal

it would be easier to fit ur budget to a screen than vice versa.. give us a rough guesstimate of ur budget and some here might give u some recommendations..

if not much of a budget.. IMHO Pioneer currently makes the best plasma tvs..
