Anyone know where I can find a SMART car here?

Hi All,

Am hoping the kind people on this forum can help.

My wife and I are currently looking for a 2nd car. We're actually looking for a small car that is easy to park, drive and is reliable. It doesn't really need to carry much, aside from ferrying her to and from her workplace (plus her laptop and gym bag). Also, the high fuel prices has gotten us thinking that a small (or tiny) car would be great.

We have seen a few Smart cars (the micro-minis that seat two) running around and my wife has promptly gotten it into her head that she really likes it, and wants to try one out. Unfortunately we haven't been able to find out where they sell these in Singapore. Could anyone help to point us in the right direction, please?

I seems to recall it being in the range of a 6-digit number. Saw only once in Singapore.

Anyway, don't think it is justified to buy it because of fuel price increase. With that money, you can easily buy tanks and tanks for fuel. Just get a Kelisa or Picanto lah. Cheap and not fuel-thirsty.

It's my wife who wants to have a look at it. We're still looking around and we haven't decided yet on the car yet.... I wasn't even sure if the Smart is actually available here. I guess it's not, which is probably a blessing since it will probably be too expensive anyway (as wbucket pointed out).

and have pretty much high end things like turbocharged engine and etc. not an economy & cheap car for its size.

price dunno, but dun think its cheap. as wbucket stated, get kalisa or picanto instead and buy patrol for the balance money.

One is around 12000 to 18000 pound. It will add up to be a cost of a normal jap car. that is 4 seater sedan. I also considered to purchase one when I saw it in JB. But damn ex.

Only 5 Smart cars in SG ONLY DC will not bring in anymore of these smart cars ... i have enquired already ... was fortunate to drive and sit in one of those 660cc thingy. You might want to join NTUC Car Co Op, there have 2 Smart cars in their fleet .... Really Irritating drive cause its lacking of power and the reverse gear is darn hard to engage and its very crampy on the passenger side ...

- u r only able to import directly nw. they used 2 bring in but sales totally nt gd. which version r u looking at?

- 1st appear in Germany in 1999 for old couples to travel around in Europe. Then under Benz, price is equal to almost a 2l Toyota. If budget is one of the impt factor, u can try Hyundai Getz or Suzuki. Go to Cycle & carriage for more enquries. Wink

If you are thinking about fuel......
S$200/mth, S$2400/yr, S$24000/10yrs.
That little bug will save you S$24k for 1 COE life span, but the wrx, most likely will cost you another S$48K of fuel. Confused

Prehaps Jazz is a better choice! Shape wise is the same, up front is lower. FC also good!

Alternatively, try NTUC Car Co-op…they have a few of the ForTwos (that’s the name of this model as MCC Smart’s range has been expanded). I noticed the sticker on one parked in my church a couple of weeks ago.
