come on guys, the same applied for specialist as well. who wouldn't want his guys/supporters to be placed on a firmer footing so that they can render a stron...

king108 SG

Cool Hence I am asking our government to send our officers and man there to experience at least some real thing in East Timor..no everytime can gain such experience.

Those that gained experience must be promoted and even promoted to chief of staff.

That will make singapore proud.

king108 SG

Cool Give them the respect..they won't wet their pants when bullet fly here and there..I am definitely sure. My job is to protected them too..else no commander than who to lead the attack and defence.

Reservists are trained by regulars..hence regulars are definitely the expert when compared to reservist. Don't shame me..because we lead NCO to charge before in exercise.

Fatum SG

I'll accord the standard protocols to the ranks of course, but respect is earned ... I'm proud of the SAF ... and I had the privilege of serving under some of the officers whom I know won't wet their pants when bullets fly ... but I have no illusions about how some officers are chosen ... I'm sure lots of chaps out there know what I'm talking about ... have you seen ku niang pussies who cry when scolded by the CSM picked for OCS because of a whole string of A'level distinctions ? ....

king108 SG

Cool Don't say until like that..after going thru some "bapthise" of real battle they will come back as man. No one is born a hero..hero are no named by themselve, they are called and respected by people and his man.

LazerLordz SG

Some officers? the pussies are at least 1/3rd of all the officers I've ever interacted in my NS life.

There are enlisted men who I know, deserve to be junior leaders in both EQ and tactical awareness and technical knowledge, but will never be so, because they got hit by speedbumps early in their academic life.

Manager433 SG

I rate Sinkapore as the Strongest, Most Advance and Deadly nation in S.E.A

Reason: Our AH SIR the best. With no combat experience, a white little pony can get the rank of 3 crabs by the age of 35. Mr. Green Some even can get rank of Star. Laughing With this, enough to scare the enemy.

beavan SG

this is somethings that combat can filter out, however there is no such thing in the peace loving army that we have

|-|05| SG

well some’s gotta do the paper work and provide party control of the military.

king108 SG

Cool Lazer, your army experience must be a very bad one..should have joined my unit..full of fun and very challenging..Three crab alway can talk jokes..occasionally star also throw in one or two..during lunch.

Wrong unit posed..what a waste.

babymac13 SG

But it's quite doubtful that SG government will be willing to risk their solider in other country's land. Mindef will have a hard time explaining to the press, and their families for any casualities.

I could not recalled if SG has ever send any troops out for real combat experiences.

zenden9 SG

I have to say that…Singapore armed forces in the region is the best… Best equip and most modernised. Especially our airforce,we have the strike abilites and capable of conducting Precison strike and night fighting capabilites. Thailand has a strong army but not so well-equipped and it’s airforce sucks with many outdated F-16/A and F-5E… Spore is also has the most indigenous weapon(although we need a little bit help from Uncle Sam)in ASEAN.. We make our own IFV,Self -propel Artillery,howitzer,SAR-21,Matador,LSD,APV…. WE MAYBE SMALL AND A LITTLE RED DOT ON WORLD MAP BUT WE WILL STING U LIKE HELL IF ANY ASEAN COUNTRIES TOUCH US!!!

king108 SG

Cool Officers that had fought a winning war will gain the respect of his man. This because that his man knew that he can be entrusted with their life when encounter with real enemies.

You can't have a general who drop his pen when a "bomb" sounded to lead us when it's actually a storm only before the rain fall. My buddy will ended helping him to find his pen under the table.

You think Australian's life is cheap, they fight for liberty and no for money. Like the english that fought till death here and buried in the War Memorial Hall near turf club. Read at the wall, and see what was written.

It's a sacred duties to protect friends and allies. I know that friends are to be welcome with red carpet and foes are to be humilated with.

My nephew had help in East Timor before. But no in real combat too. That why he is still a failure in life Embarassed .

LazerLordz SG

My army experience was good, my unit was quite good too.

I'm talking about those i've interacted out of my unit..

king108 SG

Cool But what is ME spec actually? HQ personal, I had never came across ME spec which is unlikely for us. Or are you a navy?

moca SG

You should join my unit, some people there can still tell jokes squatting in a foxhole eating combat ration soaked with rain water. Very Happy

beavan SG

haha that's pretty normal when u are in a unit. these are the nice memories of army life. Smile

king108 SG

Cool We got too many important equipment and officers..how to go foxhole..Anyway, we don't dig foxhole.

Advance forces seldom use foxhole..most of the time on the move.

cmeptb SG

Hey guys, don't mind my cutting in...

I seriously doubt the ability of our senior officers who more often than not, got promoted either because they're scholars or ass kissers. I've seen talented officers bypassed for promotion simply because they are either not acamedically qualified enough or not as good in pr skills as his peers.

zenden9 SG

Seems that even the US is doing the same thing as SAF too.. Nowdays conventional warfare emphasizes heavily on technology.. Even yr leadership sucks but u can know yr enemy movement and intention before hands and jam all their communication system will make u a likely winner in the end!

cmeptb SG

Sadly, the emergence of non-conventional warfare - guerilla, in particular has somewhat rendered even the most advanced technology ineffective to some extent.

Prime examples of this is the US involvement in Vietnam, Iraq & Afghanistan.

In Vietnam, the stupid policies of the US military more than nullified the effectiveness of their high-tech toys.

Also, even with the advent of the Global Hawk & Predator UAVs armed with hellfire missiles, they still couldn't shaft one up OBL's a*se.

It'll be a big mistake to follow US in trying to use high tech gadgets make up for lack of gray matter.
