Fixed deposit-linked platinum cards aside, sometimes the holder of the platinum card does not necessarily earn more than $50k in annual income.

Cos... I've seen cases whereby a bank sends its customer an application form (of course attached to a letter inviting him/her to apply) for a platinum card when all that's worthy of the customer is a long-standing corporate relationship with the bank. Razz

But then assuming the holder is rich, why won't the holder take a bus? There are a lot of rich people walking on the streets looking like they sell vegetables in the market. Razz Some people are rich, but they don't know how to spend their wealth. Razz

there is also an interesting clause here:

"EZ-Link shall be entitled to charge a convenience fee of Singapore Twenty-Five cents ($0.25) for each Auto Credit Card Top-Up transaction, which shall be charged to the card account."

basically if every auto top up of $50 (for spending above $600 per month), u get SMRT$0.75. and there is no way of disabling auto top-up. Sad
