For the RX7....Reliability is appalling.....fuel consumption also sucks...U're better off with the 8 which is more reliable....but then I'd pick the Type-R...depends on wad u need la...Insurance is cheaper for the RX8....but then u can't have the best of both worlds la....

if u are in it purely for looks, then i'd say the efini tops the list. if u are in it purely for performance, then i'd say either the RX8 (spec S) or type-R handles and goes in a straight line pretty well. if u are into FC, then get the celica. in the real world, u usually can't have the cake and eat it.

Cost (cheapest to most expensive): RX-7 (becos renewed COE car only), Celica SS1 or SS2, Type R, RX8

Rd tax (cheapest to most expensive): RX7/8 (1300cc), Celica (1800cc), Type R (2000cc).

FC (from best to worst): Celica (a SS2 is getting abt 11km/l), Type R, The RX-7/8

Performance (from best to good, heh..... to me all are okie): Rx7, Rx-8, Type R, Celica SS2, Celica SS1

If you can afford ard 115-120k, go for the Type R. Else, get a Celica SS2 manual for ard 100k. SS2 is having 180bhp as compared to the SS1 145bhp, and tuning is different too...........

the reason Y I picked the Type-R cos its more reliable,Economical and fast....Y not? but insurance is mroe ex than the RX8 la...Like wad u said u can't ahve the best of both worlds....and YES...4 wad go 4 celica...if u want 2 care so Much abt FC then one Shldn't be choosing a performance car liao right? Hm...RX7 is cool but engine known to give a lot of problems. RX8 has also very high FC...I'm getting only about 7-7.5km /L.
I think the Integra Type R is a good buy at that price range. No comments on celica. Maybe you want to consider 2nd hand evos?

I've always like Integra Type R....but i'm not good at calculations of cars....i.e. which car roadtax is more exp., which engine's better, FC, roadtax...etc..

Hm regarding road tax, I guess the RX7 and RX8 will be quite low. considered 1.3L car so I'm paying about 700-800 a year. Insurance is pretty ok la. I'm paying $2000 a year with 25% NCB.

Road Tax for the Integra Type R is of course higher...I'm not sure about insurance but I heard it is really high. Don't really know much about the celica.
But if you're talking about FC, then the RX7 and RX8 is pretty bad.

i drive a celica. fc for ss1 m is around 12km/l to 14km/l, ss2 m is around 9km/l to 11km/l. road tax for half a yr is $622. ss1 cost 80+++k now, ss2 cost 90+++k now.
got another 2 version of celica, the trd sport modellista. only 1200 worldwide, 5 in spore. come with all the trd goodies + super strut ss2. another version is ss2 super strut. till now only got one in singapore, the suspension is v gd, they say the suspension will auto widen when going into a corner. the super strut version cost around 120k 1 yr ago. hope all these help ("-")
