Does the presence of UN guarantee your rights, freedom and sovereignty?

In the face of evolving threats, I would think that having an army still makes common sense than not having one or depending on UN or your allies..

These have the backing of "big brothers". Look at tiny Timor Leste. Even they have an army. Even the neutral Swiss have an army.
