COE Car

Hi,

Hope someone could help me with this or give me some advise; I'm currently looking for a car. Due to budget, guess I might need to settle for a COE car. For the initial payment, I could only fork out about 2-3k. I would have about 1k car allowances/ month.

For COE car, understand that there could be alot of problems. In fact recently I just went to view some COE cars, I'm totally not familiar with cars. Check with you guys; for COE cars, we are not able to test drive??

Please advise. Thanks in advance!

1k quite alot already leh...

1k car allowance a month can get u a new vios, lancer or sunny already... why settle for a COE car that probably needs a part replacement every month? and at the end it's hard to sell and u get back peanuts..

unless u like the classics like the EG or something.. mostly 25-30+k.. monthly ard 350+ to 400..

my fren refused to listen to me and got himself a COE car ... regret now after paying close to 3 K in repair... get a new car instead ...on a 10 yrs loan...its dirt cheap now !

Unless you are techncially savvy and got good lobang for repair and parts ... COE cars may not be a good option.

Have to agree on getting a new car

but sometimes, the cars of previous years attract me like the Honda Civics and Mitsubishi Colt

don't recommend COE car unless you going for particular model. From your post, seems like budget is top priority.

Can consider 3yr old car like mazda 323 or mit galant . these are going for 1-2k above paper value. even if coe is 20+k, annual dep will only be around 4k+, and definitely less likely to have problems than coe cars.

best yet, if you sell after two yrs, you won't loose to much either.

thanks for the advises from you guys! guess i tried to settle for a 3-5years car, < 1300cc car. Lets say for a mazda323, toyota vios; what should be the estimated price range i could get for it? hmm, whats worrying me is the initial payment, not able to fork out much..
