Turbo charging is fun but costly. Many aftermarket turbo
installers forget one important part. Your engine block, pistons
etc are manufactured to withstand certain pressures. Turbo charging
increases the pressures to these parts and too much pressure will
actually "blow up" your engine.
To Turbo Charge your auto car, you need to strengthen the engine,
reprogramme the ECU and better still change your gears. All the
works will cost you $10k plus, but it will be a safer option than
just slotting in the turbo.
Supercharging on the other hand can achieve a better low-end result
which in Singapore ( I fee) is more impt. Supercharging is safer
and less hassle. After market kits are usually bolted on and can be
removed for inspections within hours.
Just my 2 cents worth. By the way, I really admire cars which are
damn quiet and still let you smell smoke. Much better than those
that make loads of noise but are left behind when the lights turn
green.
