east because of its rich mineral wealth that would have helped
german re-armament.
it was because of this that military advisers like max bauer and
alexander von falkenhausen were sent to china to train nationalist
troops.

eventually, the german military advisers were withdrawn and japan
replaced china as germany's ally in the far east.
If i am not wrong alexander von falkenhausen did continue to
stay in China,
due to the fact that he was jewish and afraid of what would become
of him
when he returned to Germany.
i'm sure chiang kai shek loved the uniforms and the salutes, but he
was a far cry from being a serious fascist... he was just a corrupt
old fashion chinese despot.
He was a nationalist........
