Although cyclist should not cycle across pedestrian crossing,
for this case, if the cyclist was hit by the bus, bus driver could
be charged too, maybe dangerous driving. Reason, evidence shows he
saw the cyclist and did not slow down...etc, moreover many of
passengers saw it? Unless witnesses say the cyclist suddenly dashed
across the pedestrian crossing, then driver could get away with the
charge.
Say if pedestrian walks across pedestrain crossing with red light
(man) on, and he/she was knocked down by vehicle, who's fault? The
driver will still be charged.
Cyclist should behave as road user, follow traffic signs and rules.
If cyclist want to cross a pedestrian crossing, he/she should push
his bicycle and not cycle across.
Walk, ride, and drive safety....this year fatal road accident rate
is higher then last year....
