Supermarine Spitfire - beautiful to look at, poor rate of climb,
insufficent firepower (until Mark VI)
P51D Mustang - beast to fly (noisy, difficult to turn inside
Fw190), long range and heavy firepower.
F4U Cosair - even harder to control (read "Baa Baa Black Sheep"
-VF144) pilots always exhausted after flying due to tendancy to
flip when not careful (due to high torque of radial engines).
Aerodynamics a beast when taking off from carrier, too high
inherent lift makes it difficult to land.
