Let me repeat myself one last time.... When the press says that you weigh 60kg, it actually means that you weigh 60N... WEIGHT is always measured in Newtons... However, since many people (like you yourself) do not understand the units well, they chose to use kg instead of Newtons....

1) Weight is always measured in Newtons. Weight is dependent on gravity.
2) Mass is always measured in kg. Mass is an independent quantity.

- You weigh 60N on Earth and 10N on the moon.
- Your mass is approximately 6kg (regardless of whether you're on Earth or moon)

ONLY the press will measure weight in terms of kg... and when they do that, they DON'T actually convert Newtons to kg (1kg = 9.81N)... they just change the units without any conversion! That is why there is this confusion... Get it?

Let's say you weigh 60kg... Actually you're wrong to say that your weight is 60kg... It is actually 60N because what you see on the weighing scale is subjected to Earth's gravity pull of 9.81 m/s^2.... However, we stick to calling it 60kg because we're all used to it... It has become a habit already... and now it has become a confusion for many people...

Hey, I am dead serious about this... Not that the press doesnt know basic maths and physics, but they have to do so because "weight" has been measured in kilograms since monkey ages ago... You can't just change it as you wish... If one day you start to see the newspaper using Newtons as the unit for weight, what do you think will happen?

Just think of it logically... If the "force" that the suction pump exerted on the man who drowned was 300kg... and if you really used 1kg=10N to convert this value, you will get 3000N of raw force... you know what this amount of force can do to that person? He will be sucked into the pump in whole, together with crushed bones and all....

60 kg should be the constant and the N should be the variable(the changes that are supposed to be made)

So it should be -> i weigh 60 kg, thus it is actually 600N and not I weight 60kg, but it is wrong so it is actually 60N and thus it i weigh 6 kg....

anyway, its good that you made a revised version. saves the misunderstandings.

Okay I am wrong... I admit it... I am confused myself....

When the press says that someone weighs 60kg, it actually means that the person's mass is 60kg... no mistakes about the units used.... Just that the term used was changed... instead of using the word "mass", they used the word "weight"

I am wrong in my previouis explanations but you're not right either...

To sum things up:

weight=60N
Mass=60kg

the weight, 60N is dependant on gravity, thus, times 9.81(10)

which gives us 600N=60Kg.

So we have to remember that the kg we earthlings are using is mass.
