It was theoreticaly not that bad. 4 people carrying a guy on a stretcher. The problem was that it was amazing race family edition so the 4 people were unfit...

If you’re a World War II fanatic, I recommend you watch Band of Brothers Episodes 1-11. This mini series is the BEST WWII film I have ever seen.

I thought saving pte ryan was better...realistic and heart-wrenching. Body-parts all over the battle field, arms blown off, people getting blown up by sticky bombs...

Icemoon SG

I was also a fanatic in the past. Now tone down liao. Mr. Green

I go for the names of all the 8 Iron Hat Princes and their descendants. Maybe I'm siao. Laughing

indeed this is the best WW2 film of the 1990s till now. even better than saving pte ryan. because firstly, this is true life account of a entire 506th PIR(paratroopers infantry regiment) 101st airborne easy company.
i wept toward the end. especially in the church, when they recap, how many of the orginal members of the easy company since D-day still remain alive.

for those who watch the BOB(band of bros), there is this website in commenoration of the mens, especially major winters.

True, respect should be earned but being a uniformed organisation with proper code of conduct laid out, it is necessary to salute commisioned officers even though you do not mean it. This is part of the discipline expected of every soldier. Even if you do not respect the person, at least respect the name of your country on the shoulders and of yourself as a disciplined member of the armed forces.

Icemoon SG

huh .. never salute officer will confine one ah? is he in school or unit?

reyes SG

the reason they are commission by the country , themore he has a moral responsibility to lead the men by example and not abuse it.
anyway, depending on what kind of offer these ppl want to be. respect gain because of his leadership, care for the men or one that feel proud of themselves because they are simply so call commission.

Obersturmfuhrer SG

It is under the GOM and part of military protocol. It is a chargeable offence but you should be glad most officers dun really go for this 5 cent stuff. But a word of warning is that they can use this as an excuse if you really piss them off with something else.

History textbooks on WW2 suz...the only accurate contents are probably big bang old history news that cannot be changed and are not from a soldiers journal.....like the war ended with the A-bomb etc. Trying reading books from other countries written by international writers...u will see that many have different perspective of the war...be it a German, a Japanese, a Chinese or even an American.

I agree...many things have occured with WW2..the closest global war worthy of everyone's attention in the history of our lifetime.

...and to all the victims and soldiers whho fought and perish...be it the Axis or the Allies...HAIL and a salute Mr. Green

Icemoon SG

is it a chargeable offence if officers never return our salute? Laughing

Obersturmfuhrer SG

Who's to charge him? Laughing

The tribunal is now in session for Pte Tan against 2LT Lee for failure to return salute.
