think Japan's geography would not hamper her force mobility?
Actually, sgdiehard did concure
that Japan's geographical layout does not provide a good
operational hinderland from the military perspective.
However, he also pointed out that other attributes that can nullify
this "geographical" limitation.
Before any country display her intention to invade or control
another, the offensive party will probe the most effecive means to
project political influence within the intended target, be it using
ca$h or pappet political entities.
This is to create beach heads in the most favourable condition to
exert control.
Classics cases like 1930's Manchuria , Korea and Taiwan prior to
WWII.
War is only declared after Pearl Harbor attack eventhough Japanese
has already occupied much of China's coastal cities since invasion
began in 1937.
IMO, when a country is out to seek mineral resource and territorial
domination, it will be a long drawn out strategic manuvers that may
last for decades before the on set of an all out war.
OR You can either buy or lie your way into another countries'
corrupt regimes or simply trigger internal unrest or make lousy
excuses to start quick war and a decisive victory.
Most modern military invasions, in fact, were started using lousy
pretext like the Marco Polo Bridge incident, Nazi German's famous
fake "dead Polish soldier" or US's alleged Iraq's WMD. All these
are self-staged pretext by the invaders for their ultimate
intentions.
So the big question is will Japan become aggressor again ?
We will never know until the day comes.
Like sgdiehard had mentioned earlier =>
"Japan's ability to build its armed forces is limited by the
constitutions, not by its technological or financial
capabilities."
If Japan can recover within a decade after her WW defeat without
oil resouces and under foreign control, what makes u think her
military will be "humped" by that same geological limitation
?
So you wanna wait or wish Japan is still "humped" ?
