What he said about fire and forget is correct.
The MM38 don't need a surface or airborne station to relay station
to the missile. The MM38 can go automatic and he for the target as
directed by coordinates from the launcher. Once within a certain
range, the MM38 seeker will go active and home on the target.
However, accuracy is no good cause the target will be moving
also.
