tvdog SG I think this is a sales video. Very impressive. But I find the shooting down of the helicopter a little incredible. Is it that easy for a tank to shooting a copter?
tankee1981 SG We are trained that we can use the FS round to engage helicopters using the main gun of our venerable SM1. This is due to the high angle of elevation for the main gun and the high velocity of the FS round. Thus tanks engaging low and slow flying aircraft is feasible.
tvdog SG It seems the Merkava has some kind of computerised aiming mechanism which makes it easier. So in the "venerable" SM1 - as you call it - how do you aim the gun?
