eurofighter SG Firstly the F-15Ks are still in Boeing’s assembly line and secondly exchanges between air forces are so common.
sidestep1984 SG well...if it happen to me that we getting the F15...it better be brand new air frames... but somehow i think that radar they bought are maybe for current planes that the rsaf may plan to soup up...thats wat i think...
LazerLordz SG DSTA is going to upgrade our Vipers with AESA?Whoa. Now that currently might need some imagination to work out.
LazerLordz SG I think what is meant there is that Israel will produce the AN/APG-68(V)9 radar for Singapore. Not America. So, likely to be in the same style as our C/D class Vipers eh.Israeli EW suite..
jwcook SG http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=7792488 SINGAPORE, March 3 (Reuters) - Singapore is delaying a $1 billion contract for 20 combat jets by up to three months as Eurofighter, Boeing and Dassault tussle for the well-armed island's biggest fighter order, people close to the talks said. Despite industry speculation that Singapore was leaning towards one of the two European suppliers rather than Boeing, aerospace analysts and sources said the outcome was too tough to call. The Southeast Asian nation had been expected to decide on a replacement for its ageing A-4SU Super Skyhawk jets in the first quarter of this year, but people at two of the three shortlisted groups told Reuters a decision was now expected between April and June. "The Singaporeans have been asking a lot of questions regarding the planes. There's a lot of activity," one source said. A defence ministry spokeswoman said the deal was still being evaluated. She did not give a time frame for an announcement. Cheers
wenhaikho SG No matter how good your weapons are... a big country like indonesia and malaysia,, can defeat singapore without fight if they can use brain..Apply sunzi art of war
Shotgun SG Tell u all how many times already... Singapore has opted for VF-1As to replace the A-4s n F-5s, as well as a handful of VF-1Js and VF-1Ss. Its actually to complement our Gundam assault suits stored under Pedra Branca. The F-15s are part of a permanent US detachment based in Singapore PLAB, rotates once a year, squadron strength. Kinda like an exchange since we send our flyboys up to Peace Carvin 1 and 2s anyways. I doubt Singapore will buy the F-15s as our NGF, since its supposed to be the NGF afterall... F-15Es hardly qualify. Their weaknesses and capabilities are too well known already.
CenturionMBT SG shhhhh tell you a secret . . .one of them just had an N2 engine installed . . . running test on it now.
Shotgun SG Ooops, I'm sorry. Top secret 30ft tall war machines really shouldn't be divulged online huh? LOL! As for the FedEx, I guess SAF finally realised the oxymoron, "Military" and "Logistics."
eurofighter SG As for the FedEx, I guess SAF finally realised the oxymoron, "Military" and "Logistics."There's a ST Aero facility there where planes you often wont see at Changi come in for maintenance, repair, overhaul.
