Anyone owning a picanto now... i need some advice man aft seeing the price dropped till ard 39 k

hows the fuel consumption.... full tank how much it cost.

does it able to achieve 100km/h without any difficulty?

does it have lots of maintenance probn? oh izzit lasting//

I am one of the Picanto owner. So far no major problems with my car.
Basically, it is a very basic car with quite smooth engine if you do not ram it.

My fuel consumption is one of the highest due having bigger rims and soundproofing.I am getting average of 14km/l. Best consumption is 15.5km/l.But most of the Picanto owner can get average of 15km/l and above.

100km/h ? No problem man. Once at cruise speed, the car is quite stable and still can push further. Picanto owner in Malaysia ever push it up to a speed of 170km/h.

As I have said no major problems. But for some rattle sound here and there are not always avoidable.If you lucky you get one well assemble. As for my Pica rattle on my forward pax door, but still ok.

Hows the fuel consumption
Fuel consumption for pica is good, if driving leisurely with windows open can achieve 21km/l, with aircon on 18 to 19km/l. If fast and furious type can achieve 17 to 18 km/l. I monitored my FC for my first 6 pumps, 2 times before 1000km, 2 times after 1000km, 2 times driving fast with aircon on.

Full tank cost.
Full tank depending on what petrol u pump, I pump 95 cost me abt $42 with discount. Now pump Vpower cost abt $46 but can last longer and more power.

Can it achieve 100km/h without any difficulty?
It can definitely reach 100km/l with no difficulty.

Until now there is no maintenance problem for my pica, whether it is lasting depend on how u maintain the car, if u take care of the car sure it can last, but if u abuse it, of cos it won't last.

cos just trying to see if can get a cheap car for myself... one person use only to travel.

i just got my picanto 3 weeks ago and he just turn 1 mth old. so far the car is ok. my FC is about 11.8 km per l. according to most forums, auto is about 12 like tat. so far is ok. but quite a few say tat it can reach until 15 when the engine runs in

mine is a opc so each mth pay abt 286 for 10 yr loan. insurance is abt 2.335 as based on 3 yrs driving exp and 25 of age.

thos prob like noisy engine, signal cannot turn off automatically, so far i dun encounter that. mayb is due to different batch of picantos. Yes, it is a small car but i think if u compare to other cars like those old version of march, kelisa, ..etc...picanto is much bigger tats part of te reason y i choose picanto too. My dad is like moses lim size and he can fit into te car so i dun think y it cannot accomdate 3 ppl bhind lor..yes..it mayb abit squeezy but after all, he is a small car..tats y call picanto Laughing

Only buy Picanto if you intend to change car within 3 years. Small Korean cc cars cannot last too long. A good example is Hunydai Atos. Use to be a popular budget car 1-2years back, and now don't see much on the road. Korean cars technology is improving, buy currently I still wouldn't consider them especially Kia.

If you are comfortable driving Manual, I recommend you get manual. Cheaper, better FC, better power. That is true for all small cars.

I do believe Kelisa's engine has a better/ more responsive engine. Cause of its double cam as compared to Picanto's single. But because of its 3 cylinder design, it is also believe to be more shaky and noisy. Plus it is small and lighter, more power to weight ratio, but watch it, you might hit the roof. Do test-drive both cars to be sure. But be warn, kelisa's dealer in Singapore isn't quite friendly/professional. Usually it is best to service over the JB's center.

I drove a Kelisa. Standing at 1.64m and 72 kg, I find it comfortable. My best FC so far is 17.4km/L, on my 8th pump. Love it when I overtake people with the 3 gear at 4000rpm, up the slope. And I am not stranger to 5k rpm, though usually 4k is enough. Twisted Evil

Actually i dun mind manual lah... if it really can save more on petrol ... maintanence... .

erm... now the price drop mah... now like monthly 400 plus... 0 downpayment... but i wonder how much monthly if i gonna dump in downpayment... say 1000 plus?

hrmm... wah some of u all say fc 12 some of u all say 18... well which one haha i am not a heavy footer ... esp if auto... manual depends loh i will step more if i want the power.

anyone have any idea hows the maintenance cost like... i mean servicing lah.

To me nowaday you can't see Hyundai Atos mostly probably is not because is not reliable, is that time the car is too expensive,COE merged, bigger car is getting cheaper and cheaper and also no choices for 1L car, that is why all scraped it and go for bigger cars.

And who said korea car cannot last? My neighbour have being driving Hyundai Accent for 5 years, so far no problem. And also have few friends drive Kia and hyundai cars, no complaints from them.

As for FC, usually for:
a. Auto Pica is between 9km/l to 16 km/l.
b. Manual is between 12km/l to 21km/l.
All is subject to your FOOT, AIRCON and HABIT.

I think another cause might be the load each of us is carrying. I drive alone, so average 16km/L for manual even though I rev about 3000-4000rpm. 1 tank I think I keep taking passengers and doing small roads and jams, become 14.8km/L. I was always shocked. But now return to normal 15.9km/L on the last run. My kelisa is now toward the end of run-in stage.

Aircon differences usually by 2km/L. Anyway, if you are thinking of Picanto or Kelisa, don't worry about FC. Cause if you get lousy FC with these cars, you will do worse on others, except for Vios, City and Jazz. These 3 cars are either FC-wise or so strong that you don't have to rev.

Test-drive first, it is free. Test-drive auto if you are interested, I think kelisa auto will beat picanto's auto, in terms of power.

My bro, his friends and mine went around testing. City, Jazz, Lancer, Aveo, Picanto, Optra, Impreza, Getz. In the end, I got a Kelisa. Wink

What I did is I just test-drive. Whenever the SE offered a seat and wanted to discuss pricing, I will decline saying I need to decide on a car model first. That way, you can easily test 3-4 cars in 1 afternoon. But if you are serious, at about the 4th - 5th car, can sit down to have a chat. Just to know where you stand financially.

You can try Getz and Aveo too. Just to know what you are buying for and what you are not. It really help to forcus down on your choices. I would ask you to test Kelisa too, but it all depends on you.

To drive a car for 10 years...
KIA is not exactly known to last long...
Perodua is just across the causeway...
Not sure how long Korean engines can last...
But Perodua's engine(Japan) has been in Daihatsu cars for dunno how many years... and we see plenty of Daihatsu Charade still surviving on the road...
Running cost of Perodua is definately gonna be alot less costly than most of the other cars...
