zquek SG I know that we have 3 squadrons of F5 and at least three squadrons of F16. Is there any more squadrons of fighters? The RSAF webby is totally outdated. Im beginning to suspect that we have 4 squadrons of F16.
gary1910 SG Basically, we have 3 sqn of F-16 due to the number of 60+ F-16s, but officailly we have 3 in SG, 1 training sqn of F-16s in US. Btw , we still have 1 training sqn of T/A4-SUs in France.
spencer99 SG I think this is what we have... all from open domain: Tengah Air Base 140 SQN - F16C/D blk ?? 143 SQN - F16C/D blk 50?? 111 SQN - E2C Changi Air Base 145 SQN - F16D blk 52+ 121 SQN - Fokker 50 Utility transport/MPA 112 SQN - KC-135R PLAB 141 SQN - RF5E, F5S/T 144 SQN - F5S/T 149 SQN - F5S/T 122 SQN - C130 SBAB 120 SQN - UH1H - Recently disbanded 124 SQN - Fenec 125 SQN - Super Pumas/Cougars 127 SQN - Chinooks Overseas detachments US 425 SQN?? - F16C/D Blk 40?? spencer99 SG All this is from open domain... you can get it from Tom Huxley or from "Pioneer" magazines or Straits Times!
kopiosatu SG SBAB 124 - Fennecs 125 - SP 127 - Chinooks Oakey 126 - SP Apache Detachment PV - Peace Vanguard Chinook Detachment PP - Peace Praire Apache sqn number not designated yet.
spencer99 SG Your SBAB SQNs more accurate then mine! thanks.... I think 120 SQN will be the new Apache SQN designation. oh yeah our AAR SQN 112 Sqn and not 119 SQN as listed in my original mail.
sbst275 SG Wrong... PLAB dun house the KC-135, CABW houses it. Incl a USA detachment Sqn 141 also has the Tigers Sqn 120 might get the AH-64
spencer99 SG Anyway, to answer the original question, we have 18 Squadrons, including those on overseas detachments.... Excludes those "non-flying" Squadrons....
flash9933 SG Does 131 Sqn still exist at Seletar Airbase?? Used to train on the Cessna 172 during the Junior Flying Club days ... ... "skylark 999, request taxi to runway 03, QNH 1010" .....
spencer99 SG The Youth Flying Club use to be 151 SQN. But after they "privatized" there is no longer a 151 SQN. 150 SQN use to be a "primary trainer" SQN based in Seletar flying SF260s but now the SQN number used by the A4SUs in France. 130 and 131 SQNs use to be based in PLAB as the advanced fixed wing trainers flying S211s. don't know whether the SQN still around or not.. now that it is based in Australia.
