the government is in cahoots with the mda and mediacorp,
creating propagandic dramas on channel 8 and channel u.
some examples include the potrait crap (where the family sells
fishballs), holland v (sells nasi lemak) and double happiness
(sells fish and chips). these dramas promote the F&B (food and
beverage) industry, which is one of the government's aim, that more
singaporeans take F&B business up for a living.
another significant example is the NKF dramas, where they have a
very tetchy story about a few kids and adults in singapore getting
various diseases and not losing hope blah blah blah... these aim at
getting more donations (to go to ppl like tt durai instead of the
needy ones)
Currently, they're creating dramas trying to promote happy-family
crap and make s'poreans sympathise with foreigners (to make them
accept those foreign "talents" who steal jobs larr).
and yes, i do watch ch 8 occasionally.
