2 RPG-7s per section? Evil or Very Mad

Hmm it will definitely not be a walk through the park for an enemy armoured force...

tankee1981 SG

Thats true, they have pretty strong anti-armour capabilities. Maybe this arrangement is in response to our strong armoured forces. Very Happy

Can someone provide our company's orbat as a form of comparism to our Malaysian counterpart? I am unable to do so because i didn't come from an operational infantry company. Thanks Very Happy

fudgester SG

Hmm…. no medic in the MY infantry platoon?

maggot SG

Get those won medals in shooting to fight lah

Each round fired is headshot can liao Cool

Why send so many people go down there and waste time? Laughing

mrblitzer21 SG

7 men with 9 rifles/machine guns? that means 2 ppl will carry 2 guns each?

Obersturmfuhrer SG

Ask us this question again after you go through your NS.

tripwire SG

a SLOW and painful death awaits them in a real war....

no doubts... their death toll is gonna be very very high.... without a frontline medic.

by the time their rear support catch up... most of them would be dead or beyond hope from otherwise... "salvageable" cases.

but given the fact that malaysia is a volunteer system... its understandable most malaysian soldiers joined to become rambo... not medics... Mr. Green

and trainning a competent medic aint easy too... its alot more difficult being a medic then a rifleman.

lwflee SG

He's right ... figures do not compute.

1 x SAR 21
+

2 x SAR 21 w/LAW

= 3 SAR 21s

Therefore, the infantry section carries, among other things,

3 x SAR 21
2 x M16s1 w/M203
2 x LAW
2 x SAW

fudgester SG

I'm an infantry coy medic. Glad to finally see one of the few who understands. Smile

Obersturmfuhrer SG

Some of us have lugged stretechers before during section and platoon training in either SISPEC or OCS so we feel your pain. We are also smart enough to know your importance. Cool

Shotgun SG

Ya, everyman will carry 2 guns. 1 in their hands, 1 between their legs.

The 2 LAW gunners, will carry their SAR-21 also lar.

So its 7 guys.

Sect Comd : SAR-21 x1
1st LAW: SAR-21 x1 + LAW
2nd LAW: SAR-21 x1 + LAW
1st M203: SAR-21 w/ M203 oR M-16/m203
2nd M203: SAR-21 w/ M203 oR M-16/m203
1st SAW: Ultimax 100 x1
2nd SAW: Ultimax 100 x1.

All in all, u have 5 rifles and 2 automatic weapons.

84mmrr SG

yup, that's rite. even 84 gunners also got to carry our own M16/SAR21. I remem asking the 84 instructors why we need to carry M16. "Well, you can't use 84 to defend yourself......"

84mmrr SG

Previously, they do not have these capabilities. Now, I guess SAF got to rethink our strategies and the way armour operates? Or these had always been factored in?

SMAPLionHeart SG

if enemy wants to use rpg-7 , nothing you can do.

LazerLordz SG

Shouldn't the Sect Comd have the Sharpshooter duty with one of the SAW gunners too?

I believe that a CPL in the Section should be 2IC, preferably one of the M203 gunners.Ease of movement in CQB, when u can split it to two fire teams.

gary1910 SG

No, the 1st LAW is also the sharpshooter and usually the 1st grenadier is the 2IC but that is not standard , depending who is the PC chose.

mrblitzer21 SG

sorry got 2 more questions..

then the platoon got radio set? if no radioman means someone else carrying it?

and then the company...

3 platoon - 54 men
1 OC, 1 Company 2IC, 1 CSM, 1 CQMS, 1 Company Medic, 2 Signallers, 2 Storemen, 1 Runner - 10 men

still got what other components? the RCL Section cannot be 39 men right..
