Get a Car during N.S?

Hi Lads!

It is possible to get a car during national service??

If yes, what type of car budget?...

Ermm ignore the rich enlistee.. juz a normal guy receiving $350-$500? per month can he afford to have a car? forget about the 1st hand car, forget about the new car forget about the high performance car. I'm talking about just a turnable 4 wheels that can be drove to camp and come to home and to go outings in the weekends!

any oppinions? suggestions? had a laugh? all are welcome.. i know this topic is hillarious.. but.. i need your view.

no, u cannot afford a car with that. unless mommy and daddy are also supporting u.

other than that, a bike will be a logical solution if u die die must have private transport.

btw, driving a car doesn't just include payment of the car.

there is still the insurance, fuel, tax and the occasional fines.

basically i feel that you should have at least put aside $1000 a month to own a car comfortably (maybe not)

would you rather forsake other stuff for just a car (e.g. gotta eat hawker food everyday cos not enough $, stay at home on weekends just to save money?)

unless it's dad's car then different story lor... don't go motor la, quite dangerous.. not whether you want to bang people, whether people want to bang u or not..

Yea, like wat the others say, stop thinking about a car, $1000 is the basic entry level I would say for a car monthly cost, even for a 2nd hand car u would need about that figure cos the maint would be killing

can just send them to the nearest MRT... no need to send them home lah.. drop along the way lah, not direct to their house, unless tat one is your immediate boss lah Very Happy

totally agree.. if u have 1000 bucks per month to spare ... den it will be just rite for a NORMAL car. Deducting the installments parking fuel etc etc... the balance u have to save up every month to pay ur rd tax and insurance and servicing loh.

Hrmm how come u need a car while in ns? Stay out ah? All camps now quiet convenient mah.... u can always hitch a ride on ur fellow regular's car haha.

If u work from 7 to 7 which less likely for a nsf... den get weekend plate loh.

However i still cant really find a car that useful in for ns.

Ya and i hate sending pple loh everytime i drive to camp. Kaoz ask u to drop him here and there... as if petrol is free.. one day or 2 is okie.. but everyday... very sian one leh. Never consider the driver;s feelings.... hrmph Mr. Green
