actually got one friend say that its ok whether its a curve or
straight line because of our reaction time. the length the marble
rolled down takes a short time so our reaction time is a rather
large percentage, resulting in some a curve and some a straight
line. i think thats why for the gradient part, they ask for average
gradient, so that you calculate the gradient at two points and get
the average if you get a curve
