And question for dragg or any arty guys out there:

I can roughly imagine how useful if the initial burst is 3-round burst cos you'll catch the most people not yet taken cover. But is this 3-round burst something that is sustained or are subsequent fire single shots only?

Are there any tricks to the firing pattern you can share if they are not classified?

For example, would you guys like cease fire for maybe 10 minutes so the enemy think it's safe to come out and then you let go again. Sorry, very amatuer scenario.

And what kind of shells do you use for what situations? Example when do you use air-burst, delay fuse, WP etc...?

Am interested cos arty kills the most people in modern wars.

arty have to shoot and scoot.......enemy can track your location down within minutes(or is it seconds) after you fire the first round by radar, just the same way as we tracking the location of enemy arty.

of course there are many other senarios........

FH2000: 3 rounds in 20 seconds / 6 rounds in 1 min depends on operational requirements and crew capability.

there is a need for some rest after a slavo(3-round burst),, i forget the timing but the purpose is to make sure that the barrel does not overheat, anyway there is a temperture reading of the barrel displayed.

but given the situations u mentioned, it is wiser to back off and be called cowards then to be fly back rather than carried back. or even suffer national humiliation etc...u get the drift..

That damned BTID cost thousands to replace and tracking their movements while in repair made me a pretty pissed Armt Spec.Once, I found that the circuit board was loose and you could hear rattling when it was shook. Shocked

And don't get me started on the leaks and manual handpump probs..some people actually forgot to check the oil in the transmission of some guns for years(shall not name the units to maintain privacy), OMG.
